Long time no post!

Hello, all!

GEEZE, it has been busy in Kindergarten.  Although I've been taking photos and video like mad, I just haven't been able to upload successfully! Additionally, lots of the photos I have been taking have been group photos, so there's no point to posting those and blanking out all of the kids' faces.  Don't worry-- you'll see them at the end of the year! :) Check out photos in November & December!

Over all, we are really coming along academically.  To be ready for January:

*Practice "CVC" words (you can google it; they are words with three sounds-- consonant-vowel-consonant)
*Practice teen numbers (recognizing, writing, saying) 11-20.
*Begin addition! Play with two dice and have the kids add up the dots.

Finally, we are still working hard on behavior! Continue the wonderful conversations you are having at home with them about tattling vs. telling when it's important, being kind, and not lying.  These are three of the biggest issues we are facing in K :) I can tell parents are talking with their kids about these things because they often come to school and tell me about it! AWESOME!

Happy Christmas to all!

Love,

Seahawks Fans!

It's fun to see what the kids are into, talking about, and excited by...and the Seahawks seemed to be a popular topic!! Enjoy the Kinder version of what the Seahawks are :)

October Monthly Report

Here is a synthesis of what we have learned in October.
Enjoy!

Wrapping Up October

First of all, we had our first earthquake drill.  We learned that during an earthquake, we get under the tables and hold on to the legs.  Our tables are small, but they did a WONDERFUL job of giving each other room and did an even better job evacuating!

Sharing space :)

Please check out the October tab for all the other great things we have done!!!

Autumn Creatures!

We just finished our mini unit on BATS! The kids were so engaged! They should have each received a Scholastic non-fiction reader on bats in their folders last week.  Hope they are being read at home! ENJOY these two bat songs/videos we have been watching, and be encouraged to check out more cool bat information on youtube or the library!

Videos We Love!

Hello, parents! I am so happy to finally have a set class and to have met your children. It's going to be an amazing year!
Below are the links to a few videos we just LOVE! We have read all the books (a few times) and have learned a litle something about each. Our favorite learning has been the word "onomatopoea." Onomatopoeas are SOUND words, like "whoosh" or "snap." We learned them from Walking in the Jungle!

Enjoy the videos below and see if your child can sing/recite the book!
